AFC and LaLigaSportsTV sign media rights deal for AFC’s major club competition for the 2021 to 2024 rights cycle

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today announced that LaLigaSportsTV will be their new media partner in Spain and Andorra broadcasting the AFC’s premier club competition, the AFC Champions League, via the over-the-top (OTT) streaming service from 2021 to 2024.

LaLigaSportsTV, who holds the rights to mostly domestic sports properties, will provide coverage of AFC club football to fans in both Spain and Andorra for the very first time.

Dato’ Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary, said: “We are excited about this new partnership in Spain, a market with a huge football fanbase and tremendous passion for the sport. Strong performances and the popularity of Asian players in Spanish clubs has resulted in continuous growth of interest in AFC football locally.

“This deal demonstrates the value of the AFC’s competitions and we thank La Liga Sports TV for the confidence they have shown in the future of Asian football by entering into this agreement.”
